New Color Suggestion
I've been playing GW for quite a while now and something I have come across many times is "How do I make such and such color?" Ex: Pink. Well quite simply put you can't. The reason GW did not include white in there color choices for dye! At first I thought well they have the white mantle and they don't want people to look like them, but Whites available on guild capes. I know cause I made my guild's cape using white, black and silver.
I have alot of art training and one thing I do know is white is used to brighten color or tint it. Black is used to darken shade color. So say someone wanted pink dye that would be red+white = pink. This would really open up the color ranges on items and give more uniqueness to charecters.
Being that I would also like to use white on my armor sets, I am posting this in attempts to have white dye added to the system. So if you Agree to have white dye added please post here to let Anet know you would like it.

I'm not a dye expert, but it was my understanding that silver already acts as a 'tint' when mixing. It may not be as effecient as a white dye, but it still works. And the combo for pink is, I believe, red/purple/silver(2)

I've tried many different combinations for pink, but I usually find it way to light or way too dark. There is no normal pink like the one that suppose to be generated by white + red.

the most discussed colour is gold....there are so many different combinations which work differently on different types of armor. There really should be a chart where the colour combinations and their outcome on a specific piece of armor.

There is a color mixer program out there, I just forgot where to find it. I'll ask the mod's if i can post a dl link for it here.
I know silvr is supposed to be a tint color but I'm looking for true white for my armor, currently I have plate mail with gold trim but I think it would look better with white or sky blue = blue + white. I just think that its a simple add in that would satisfy alot of people.

well i personaly have anted white dye since i found there was black ^^
i like blue for my main char, who's surname means blue, so i wanted to make my armours be mixed for light and dark blues, but with the cost of black, and silvers increasing, thats out of the question
so yeah...white dye then i can make pastel dyes and light silvery and ooh, loads more shades to mix ^^

Don't forget that you can mix dye remover with the dyes..... You can get some interesting colors that way as well. I made a pink(ish) mix with red + dye remover...

well i think you have to add the remover to the dye, not the other way around.....when i added dye to remover, it came out no different, but added remover to dye and got a different shade.
dodnt test to much, cause i didnt have much cash to play with and dyes were expensive (for me, at least)

Regardless though, white dye would still be preferable, and no matter what you do you currently you can not recreate white.

I have waited for a white dye FOREVER! Our guild cape is all white with the emblem black, and I would love to have pure white wyvern armor to go with it!

Agreed Dasha - it can be done.
The colors blend according to their properties in LIGHT not paint.
So for example red + blue + green should yield a pure white color.
Gold with a metallic sheen is easily had by combining:
Silver + orange + yellow (add one more yellow for a brighter effect)
See my avatar for an example.

In Reality red+blue+yellow= black not white.
Red/yellow/blue are the primary colors not green "green is in TV's and displays due to intensity".
The reason is because the color u see is because the item obsorbs all color except the one reflectd. IE: and apple is red because it absorbs blue and yellow light and reflects red.
Red/yellow/blue are the primary colors not green "green is in TV's".
Now if you combine all the primary colors you get black because no light is being reflected back because all the light spectrum is being obsorbed.
A better way to decribe white is "Lack of Color" while black would be "ALL COLORS"

Try adding like 3 vials of dye remover to silver :P
I dunno, I wanted a White Mantle look for a long time now, there really should be white dye.

Dude, kindergarten. Yellow and blue make green. Green isn't a primary color.
Doesn't matter the medium, does the same thing with light too.
Yellow and Blue are more likely to make brown, with most paints on the market anyways ^_^

Maybe I am being a tad bit anal, but is it just me or why all the demand for white. Everyone asks for white because it is natural. But I dont think there is "natural" white dye. I think what you are looking for is bleech. Maybe we should request bleech. This leads me to believe something like the dye remover. Now I haven't tested mixing dye remover with dye (sounds like an invisibility potion waiting to brew), but that seems the more logical in my mind.

You have it exactly backwards sir.
Black is the absence of light, WHITE is the sum of all primary colors combined in equal amounts.
Technically, black is not a color, but rather a tone.
As a graphic artist, I was originally thrown as well, I grew up with the red, blue, yellow primary model.
Think photography - not paint.
